When Ted walked over, he saw Janine's troubled face, her mind clearly elsewhere. She didn't look like someone on vacation.
Ted sighed helplessly and smiled as he walked up to her. "Come on, let's head to security."
Janine snapped out of her daze and hummed a reply.
"Are you worried about the kids?" Ted asked gently.
Janine didn't think she was that transparent, but she didn't need to pretend everything was fine with Ted. So, she nodded.
"I saw the trending news. Things have blown up so much, and Finn definitely won't let it go easily.
"Steven and the others are still so young. I don't know if they'll be able to handle these dirty tricks. I really didn't expect Finn and his people to stoop so low."
The children once had a semblance of a father-child bond with Finn, but his actions had completely severed that.
Now, even the faintest bit of affection had been destroyed, leaving nothing but regret.
Ted chuckled. "Steven and the others are very capable. Even if we stayed here, we wouldn't be able to change much. Worse, we'd probably make them more anxious.
"Trust them—they'll turn things around. Soon enough, certain people will learn what it's like to face the consequences and how to behave properly."
Besides, even if Steven and his siblings couldn't resolve things entirely, wasn't Joe there to help?
Janine smiled bitterly. "I know all that in theory. I just can't help but worry."
"Relax. Let's treat this trip as our honeymoon. We've planned this for so long but kept postponing it because of everything else.
"Now, there's nothing holding us back. We can finally enjoy a vacation that's just for the two of us," Ted said softly.
Janine's worries lessened a little at that.
"Since I promised to come along, I'll make sure we have fun. I'll even post more updates on my social media account," Janine said, regaining her usual self.
Seeing her calm down, Ted smiled and nodded. "That's the Janine I know. I haven't posted anything on my social media account for some time too. Maybe it's time to show off and spread some love."
Over the years, he'd seen so many others flaunt their relationships. Now, it was finally his turn.
