The female officer switched off the phone. She wore an expression that showed she had discovered the evidence she needed.

Sarah felt like she had been plunged into a pool of ice. The voice in the recording had been an exact copy of hers; even she couldn't tell that it wasn't her speaking. Furthermore, the recording had been smooth, so it couldn't have been tampered with. There was no way for her to prove her innocence.

She recalled that the officer had mentioned the time being 1:20 pm. She shook her head vigorously and said, "That's impossible. I was eating in the private room at 1:20 pm. I never left the restaurant!"

Seeing that Sarah refused to admit to her guilt, the officer asked, "Can anyone verify your alibi? Was there anyone else at the private room?"

"My younger sister was there!" Sarah said quickly.

The officer took out a pen. "Write down your younger sister's contact information. We'll contact her to verify your alibi."

"I… I want to call her myself. Is that alright?" Sarah asked while pointing at her confiscated phone. "My younger sister has a serious heart condition. I'm scared you'll stress her out if you call her."

The officer placed the pen down. "Is there anyone else who can verify your alibi other than your sister?"

Sarah shook her head. Timothy had only shown them to the private room before leaving. He hadn't joined them for lunch, so it had just been Sarah and Xyla.

"Considering the severity of your sister's heart condition, we'll refrain from verifying your alibi with her. We'll check out the surveillance footage again."

The female officer turned on her heel and left the room. She gave out the order to check the surveillance recordings.

There was nothing else Sarah could do but wait. She didn't expect the officer to return with even more undeniable evidence. The restaurant had provided a recording of her leaving the private room at 1:13 pm.

"Ms. Lynde, is there anything else you'd like to say?"

Sarah shot up from her seat as if remembering something. "I… I forgot! I went to the next private room to look for Xavier. I never left the restaurant!"

The officer played the recording. It showed Sarah going to the next private room. But after Lily and Xavier left, she followed after them.

Instead of returning to her own private room, she could be seen walking toward the restaurant's entrance. In the next clip, Sarah had already put on the mask and was headed for the parking lot.
