Sarah stood there with her arms crossed before her chest. She wore a pair of 1.94–luch high heels and exuded an air of confidence. A trace of disdain curled at the comers of het ciintson lips.
A stast member prattled on behind her, seemingly explaining something to her in a respectful manner.
Satah tell that Xavier’s attitude toward her had taken a turn for the better recently. He probably felt inappropriate to have suspended her from her role at Nova Group Therefore, he enthusiastically joined the Avelon Designs Competition and accompanied her here.
The thought of that suddenly crossed her mind one day. It seemed far more plausible that he had come for her than the notion of him being here for Lily. After all, they were on the brink of divorce.
“Ms. Lande!”
The staff member called her name twice and followed her gaze. Lily was already pone
It seemed Lily hadn’t noticed Sarah’s silent provocation. All she wanted was to focus on preparing for the competition. She was uncertain whether she would advance this time.
Although she had gained Terence’s approval on bet design, the sight of Xavier and Sarah tilled her with a vague sense of urease.
The announcement of the competition results officially began two hours later.
All design sketches were played on the large screen in tum. Some sketches were so string that they drew gasps from the crowd, while others were so mediocre that they invited scom at a single glance.
A thin layer of sweat formed on Lilly’s palms. Her phone vibrated twice in her pocket before she pulled it out.
It was a message from Terence with two simple sentences. “Good luck. Don’t be nervous.”
She straightened her posture and glanced around the room before she spotted Terence seated in the comer. Beside him sat Xavier. They were merely here as spectators without being involved in the process.
Terence gave her a faint nod before putting his phone backinto his suit pocket when he noticed her gaze. Lily nodded in retum as a silent acknowledgment
She intended to look away and refocus on waiting for the results, but her eyes uncontrollably Lingered on Xavier.
Xavier seemed to sense her gaze. He looked up slightly. His deep eyes locked unerringly onto her clear eyes,
His eyes drew her in like a whirlpool. Lily found herself momentarily lost in his gaze and was uncertain of what to do.
“And now, we’ll officially announce the second round list of the Avelon Designs Competition!” After fishing the opening remarks, the host’s voice grew noticeably louder as the moment of excitement arrived.
Lily was jolted back to her senses. She sat up straight and glanced over at the s stage. The second round list had been handed to the judges in advance.
Sarah spotted Lily’s name at a glance. She didn’t understand much about design. It wasn’t up to her to decide who would advance in the competition. She could only ask the judges for clarification.
“Ms. Townsend, is Lily’s design really that impressive?”
Gloria Townsend was a renowned designer in the country and was about 60 years old. Her hair was silver, and she wore a pair of vintage black–framed glasses.
