Heartstrings on Fire novel Chapter 1326

After returning to the villa, Nocturne was already looking a bit drowsy.

Jared had mentioned before that this kid was born with a sleep disorder.

Though it had improved over time, it still took him longer than most kids to fall asleep.

Even so, Nocturne kept a firm grip on Agnes's hand.

Agnes had thought she could slip away once the child fell asleep.

But to her surprise, despite Nocturne's sleepy demeanor, his mind was sharp as a tack.

In the end, the three of them ended up sharing a bed.

With Nocturne in the middle, Agnes was tucked against the wall.

Jared, meanwhile, was left to perch precariously on the edge of the bed.

As soon as Nocturne’s head hit the pillow, he was out like a light.

Agnes gently brushed her fingers through Nocturne’s hair, studying his face.

It was still unbelievable to her.

This was her child.

Someone in this world who shared her bloodline—what a miraculous feeling.

She couldn't help but lean down and plant a gentle kiss on the little one's forehead.

When she looked up, she found herself locked in Jared's deep gaze.

His eyes were like the vast, mysterious ocean beneath a starlit sky—calm and expansive but concealing hidden depths.

Agnes felt her heart skip a beat, then start racing.

Uncomfortable under his gaze, she shifted, intending to slip out from the covers.

Just as she was about to stand, Jared caught her arm. "Where are you going?"

Agnes felt a flicker of panic. "I... was just going to another room."

She had thought about leaving altogether.
