Sipping his coffee, Mr. Tucker commented, “I knew Estelle's identity as KING would cause some trouble, but what I’m curious about is why she didn't take Antonia’s commission. It's just a dress design. It's just a piece of cake for her.”
His assistant replied, “KING is a renowned designer. She has the right to choose her clients.”
“Things aren't that simple,” Mr. Tucker said, shaking his head slightly.
Estelle returned to her studio and handed over her ongoing projects to Blythe. Surprised, Blythe asked, “Estelle, why are you leaving again? What did Mr. Tucker say to you? Was it about Antonia?”
Estelle replied calmly, “Stop asking. If Antonia comes by, avoid any conflict with her. If I'm not here, just let her leave.”
Blythe expressed her frustration, “Antonia is too arrogant. It’s your right to refuse to design her dress. How dare she use Mr. Tucker to expel you?”
“Some people believe that their wealth gives them the right to boss everyone around,” Estelle responded, packing her belongings. “I'm leaving. Contact me if you need anything.”
“I'll miss you, Estelle. Please come back soon,” Blythe said, pouting.
“I'll be back before you know it.”
With a plain smile, Estelle slung her bag over her shoulder and headed for the parking lot, her cap tilted at a casual angle.
Instead of going back to the Bright Commercial Center, Estelle made a detour halfway and headed to her mentor, Old Mr. Quintin’s house.
Old Mr. Quintin was in his study writing. After washing her hands, Estelle started grinding ink for him.
“Why the sudden visit?” Old Mr. Quintin asked with a chuckle, “Did something happen?”
