Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1646

"In his room making a call," Zachary casually said as he opened a box of pies and asked Damian. "What flavor would you like?"

"I'm not hungry now. Save it for later!" Damian replied.

"I'm going to the backyard to check my roses" Norah, with a pies in hand, headed towards the backyard.

Upstairs, Xavier sat in a wicker chair on the balcony, basking in the sunlight, almost dozing off.

After a while, His phone vibrated, and he lazily opened one eye to check it. His expression somber; it was a call from his father, urging him to come home for the festival. This was the third call from his father since yesterday.

He picked up the call, "I’ve already told you I'm not coming home. Celebrate without me!"

"Xavier, today is a day for family reunions. How can you not come back? We haven't celebrated Thanksgiving together for years," Mr. Hanson's voice trembled. "You know my health condition isn't great. Perhaps this is our last Thanksgiving together. Could you just fulfill this wish of mine?"

Xavier reached for his cigarettes, his face showing visible indifference. "It's just Thanksgiving. Is it that important?"

"For you, you have many more Thanksgivings ahead. But for me, celebrating Thanksgiving Day with you are becoming increasingly scarce," Mr. Hanson said solemnly.

"Fine," Xavier lit his cigarette with a match, and then checked his wristwatch. "I'll be back at six."

"Great! That’s great!" Mr. Hanson repeated, "We'll be waiting for you."

"Fine. Bye."

Xavier hung up, planning to spend a short while with them at home and then return. He had no connection to that family, and he had no intention of encountering Mya and her daughter.

After finishing his cigarette, Xavier went downstairs.

Damian and his staff were arranging the pies. When they saw Xavier coming down, they invited him to enjoy the pies.

"Where did these come from?" Xavier asked in a soft tone.

"Norah brought them!" Zachary replied with a hearty laugh.
