"You're such a brave girl!" Landon chuckled. "Go feed this to Boogoo."

Kya's eyes twinkled with pleasure, and she nodded. "I'll go feed Boogoo."

With that, she started running towards the pavilion, her pigtails bouncing.

Once inside the pavilion, Alma turned to look at her and frowned, scolding, "Don't run around like that. If Mrs. James comes back and can't find you, she'll think I didn’t take care of you!"

Kya approached Alma with her tiny hands behind her back, "Alma, I have a gift for you!"

"Well, even such a little one understand social graces. Alright, let me see what the gift is. If I like it, I’ll be nicer to you when you come again."

Alma smirked, reaching out her hand to Kya. "What's the gift? Let me see."

Kya extended her hand and placed a wriggling caterpillar in Alma's palm. "Do you like it?" she asked with her big innocent eyes looking at her.

"Ah!"

Alma let out a scream, and jumped up from the bench, her expression filled with terror. She frantically brushed at her clothes and ran into the mansion.

Mrs. James had just hung up the phone and turned to the garden. She asked, "What happened to her?"

Kya replied in her sweet voice, "I gave her a gift, and she was very happy!"

Mrs. James wore a bewildered expression. Was Alma screaming out of happiness?

She held Kya's hand and said, "Let's go pick some flowers, sweetie."

Upstairs in his study, Charlie had taken several phone calls. He could see Kya playing in the garden from his window and could faintly hear her laughter.

As he sat down to review some documents, a servant entered and said, "Sir, there’s a Miss Sullivan looking for you."

Charlie knew Emily will come. He asked in a calm tone, "Where is she?"

"She's In the living room."

Charlie nodded, "Bring her to my study."
