Maja was about to decline, but the mention of chicken soup got her interested.

"Where do I eat it?"

"We'll bring it to your room."

She nodded, her stomach conveniently growling.

The staff smiled and asked, "Just a moment, please. The soup will be up shortly."

Ian stood quietly by the door until the voices died down, and he moved to the sofa.

The room was soundproofed, but he could still hear the sound of Maja's shower.

His heart was filled with tender feelings, and he couldn't help but picture her in bed.

Judson was expecting Ian to lose his cool, but to his surprise, Ian agreed after a few seconds of silence.

Judson had always seen Ian as a tough nut to crack, so his easy agreement was unexpected.

He was her friend and knew what her profile picture looked like.

Maja and Judson both turned on their mics, and Judson started apologizing.

"Ms. Penny, I'm terribly sorry. One of our accountants has been caught fiddling with the books and has been taken away by the police. When we rechecked his records, we found discrepancies in the cost of Greenfield Gardens' renovations. I'm really sorry to bother you about this."

She immediately pulled up the old invoices and went through each one with Judson.

Judson invited Ian to join just as a witness.
