Maja had been running on empty for so long, the sickness had hit her like a freight train.

Glancing at the line-up of coffee mugs and then at the time on her phone, she realized she had been asleep for several days.

Rubbing at her temples, her fingers trembled slightly. She had been plagued by nightmares and visions of Lillian and the small town she had recently visited. She dreamed of waking up in a strange bed, her body bearing the marks of a rough night.

She was overwhelmed by a wave of self-loathing, even a feeling of nausea.

But seeing Ian when she opened her eyes made her feel a lot better.

She eyed the coffee mugs sitting nearby and furrowed her brows.

"Have you been drinking these?"

There were hints of red in Ian's eyes, but still, he checked her forehead first to ensure her fever had subsided before he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Ian, you have a stomach condition."

He chuckled lightly and had the housekeeper take away the three coffee mugs. He had just finished drinking them, not expecting her to wake up.

Maja didn't know how severe her fever had been these past few days. She was as hot as an oven and would occasionally murmur the names of her family members.

But did she have any family?

It seemed she didn't.

So even when she muttered names in her dreams, she was always hesitant and confused.

Ian sat by her side, handling her company’s affairs while listening to her sleep talk.

Fortunately, in these three days, his name had made it into her sleep talk.

Maja tried to get up but felt weak and fell back down.

She asked, "How is Wilma doing?"

"She's been discharged. The upcoming shooting has been temporarily postponed. She's recuperating at home."

Maja sighed in relief, then took his hand, beckoning him to sit by the bed. "Does your stomach hurt?"

From the moment she had condescended to tend to his needs on the small balcony, Ian had been irritable.

Maja was inherently aloof. If she hadn't been infatuated, she wouldn't have done that.

The heart that had been clenched for three days felt a hint of sweetness at that moment.
