She pouted and snitted, and her tears poured down uncontrollably. 

Although she lost her mother at a young age, and her father remarried and started a new family, he had never wronged her. 

Her stepmother didn’t care about her, but she also never made things difficult. Her younger brother was afraid of her and dared not cause trouble in front of her Therefore, she had never endured such grievances before. 

Relying on Zayn, Nadine had continuously provoked her and caused her trouble. For the first time, she could no longer tolerate it and was ready to confront Nadine, unly to be stopped by her husband. 

Punishing Nadine would only lead to him showering her with even more care and compensation, and this thought made her feel utterly helpless. It was as if the whole world was against her. 

She cried uncontrollably, her sobs tearing at her heart. As she felt as if she might just abandon all restraint and let herself completely fall apart, a sudden set of foursteps halted right in front of her. 

She lifted her tear–filled eyes, 

her vision blurry. She barely made out the figure standing before her–it was Ethan. 

Looking at his towering figure, she exclaimed, “Go away!” 

Could be show up at a worse time? Not only did he secretly follow her, but he didn’t bother to tum away at the sight of her pathetic state! 

Ethan didn’t leave. Instead, he simply rolled up his pants cuffs, tossed his jacket onto the ground, and sat down with a thud. 

Josephine cholod on a sobi, staring at him in stunned silence. What did he want? 

Met with her gaze, he wore a comforting smile and stared deeply at her. With the gentlest voice, he said, “I’ve run out of handkerchiefs today…I use this.” 

He removed his necktie and handed it to her.

Besides, her bag was stocked with everything–dry tissues, wet wipes, and even panty liners. She pulled out a tissue, wiped her tears, and without caring about her Image, blew her nose loudly. 

After a pause, she couldn’t help but complain, “Do you know how mean it is to see a girl sobbing, not turn away, and even deliberately strut over to watch her cry? If I were a killer, I would’ve mundered you right here.” 

Ethan chuckled. “I didn’t strut over to watch you cry. I just didn’t want you to feel like a loner.” 

“What loner?” 

He earnestly replied, “One that’s been abandoned by the world.” 

Josephine froze for a moment upon hearing those words. For some reason, when they came from his mouth, they sounded oddly familiar, as if she had heard them somewhere before.
