Chapter 43 

“Josephine, your behavior is becoming increasingly irresponsible. Your personal feelings cannot impede Nadine’s career opportunities. She is the first artist signed by Taches Group, and if we can’t make her a success, how can we expect in sign other artists in the future? 

“This sinution is crucial for the growth of Forbes Group Can’t you see that?” 

Josephine was utterly baffled by the reprimand. “How did 1 hinder bercarrer?” 

“Don’t pretend you don’t know. When you took the group photos for Arthur, why did you purposely exclude Nadine?” 

Purposely? In a moment of complete speechlessness, she couldn’t hold back a dry laugh. “You think you know me so well, Zayn. How did you predict that I would intentionally do something like this? Yes, I did it on purpose. What are you going to do about it? 

Zayn’s anger boiled over, but he tried to hold it in “You’re acting incredibly stubborn,” he said through gritted teeth. “Do you have any idea how much time and effort I’ve put into planning this party? I’ve reached out to countless marketing accounts and paid medias, all for the sake of…Hey! Josephine!” 

Despite the fact that the call had ended, Josephine’s anger lingered, and she struggled to keep it under control. Her grip on the phone was tight, and her breathing was rapid 

How could she have unintentionally left Nadine out of the photographs? She remembered seeing Nadine sneak away to the back during the shoot, but she didn’t pay much attention at the time

All she could focus on were the technical aspects–aperture, lens, angle. She prided herself on being able to see the big picture in any si harmony over personal emotions or desires. 

Yet here she was, being accused by Zayn of being thoughtless. It felt like these past three years had been a waste. 

Mason tried to calm her down and said, “Don’t let that person get you angry. Here, have a banana.” He peeled one and held it out to her, but Josephine refused. “I don’t have any appetite.” 

Mason couldn’t resist taking a bite for himself. “Don’t be mad. We’ll handle it and show him what happens when he messes with you, later when Ethan joins us. Josephine was stunned by this news. Before she could advise him against making any rash decisions, a tray with bacon–filled bread appeared in front of her. “I picked it up when I got the cake. I’m not sure if you’ll enjoy it. Give it a taste.”

Josephine was taken aback by the fantastic taste of the bread. It was her favorite type, along with the cake she had just eaten. How did this guy know her preferences. so well? He had picked them out on a whim, and yet they were exactly what she loved the most, 

She glanced up at Ethan, wondering if he could possibly be an old friend of hers. But as she gazed into his deep, dark eyes framed by long lashes, she knew it was Impossible. 

In the past, she had always been drawn to attractive people, and if she had met Ethan before, he would have been her first love. How could she have torgotten about lum? As she finished the bread, Josephine felt even more content and eager to leave the hospital. 

Ethan graciously offered to oversee her discharge process. It was only later that she discovered he had also taken care of all the necessary paperwork for her admission
