Zane chuckled and said, "It's okay. Anna, it'll be too tiring for you to travel back and forth. I'll be worried for you."
It felt odd. Every time I heard Zane's sweet talk in such a serious tone, I would feel warm and fuzzy inside.
In response, I said, "Okay. Shall we meet outside the kindergarten?"
Zane answered, "Sure."
The driver sent me to the kindergarten. I opened the door and walked to the side, waiting for Willow to appear.
"Anna."
Upon hearing somebody call my name, I turned around, only to see Steven walking toward me. Immediately, my smile faded, and I turned around, wanting to return to the car.
Steven got in my way and said, "I have something to tell you."
"I'm sorry, but I don't want to hear it," I said icily.
But Steven didn't give me any room to reject him. He immediately said, "A few days ago, I went to a psychiatrist…"
I looked at Steven. He continued, "He asked me a lot of questions. After thinking about it, I realized that I had treated you poorly in our marriage.
"I didn't like Jessica, but I got more intimate with her because she was my first love. And in that process, I isolated and hurt you. That was my fault."
After silently hearing what Steven had to say, I asked emotionlessly, "And?"
