Ruby was well aware of Brody’s intention. He would always say things such as ‘ladies first’ in front of her to make it seem as if he was very gentlemanly, but he was actually unwilling to suffer any losses.
Ruby was too lazy to be bothered with him nor did she want to owe him any favors. She would let him investigate the Armed Calvary Guards since he wanted to do so. Since she could not be bothered to take credit, she might as well take advantage of this opportunity to travel around and experience life instead.
So, she said to Brody, “Mr. Jothurn, since you have chosen to investigate the Armed Calvary Guards, let’s go our separate ways here. Good luck to you.” With that said, she pushed the car door open to get out of the car.
Brody hurriedly said, “Miss Dijo, there are no villages or shops here, so why are you getting out of the car? Why don’t we head to Bergen together? I’ll go to Bergen Airport to look for clues, and you can go to the port to look for clues there. The British Lord speculated that Vera most likely left by ship, so you might be able to gain some clues along the port.”
Ruby ignored him and got out of the car. She then ran her fingers through her long and beautiful hair as she said with a smile, “What’s the difference between me going to the port to find the whereabouts of a ship and me looking for the whereabouts of where a fish swam to? I’d rather not do that.”
Brody looked at her and asked, “What idea do you have in mind now, Miss Dijo?”
Ruby laughed and said, “I don’t have any good ideas. I just thought that I might be able to find some clues nearby since Vera disappeared here. I’ll check into a small hotel nearby for a few days. Mr. Jothurn, since you want to go to Bergen, you should hurry up and set off instead of wasting time here.”
Brody was helpless and said, “Okay, I’ll go to Bergen Airport to look for clues first. The plane sent the Armed Calvary Guards directly to Bergen Airport, so I plan to trace them from Bergan Airport to see what the Armed Calvary Guards experienced all the way here. Miss Dijo, we can still spend a few days together if you don’t plan to leave Bergen during this short period of time.”
Ruby said seriously, “I wouldn’t advise you to waste too much time in Bergen. Why don’t you head to Cyprus first and ask the families of those Armed Calvary Guards about the situation?”
