When Charlie returned to the villa at Thompson First, Claire was still cleaning up the house with several cleaning staff.
The cleaning company even used professional odor-purifying equipment to clean the entire first floor thoroughly because the smell of tobacco, alcohol, moldy food, and vomit on the first floor was really too strong.
Jacob, who was one of the sources of the stench, had been invited to the courtyard by Claire at this time.
After Jacob had been enlightened by Charlie, he did not drink too much alcohol all day, but he was still a little disheveled. He was wearing a pair of boxers and a basketball vest as he smoked a cigarette and sighed as he sat in the courtyard.
Only then did Charlie realize that his old father-in-law’s body had become puffier, especially when he was sitting there. His belly was piled into a large lump, and coupled with his scruffy beard, he suddenly looked much filthier.
Jacob’s eyes suddenly lit up when he saw that Charlie was back. He quickly got up to greet him and asked, “Charlie, my dear son-in-law, I have a thought in mind, and I want to ask for your advice.”
Charlie asked him, “Dad, tell me what it is.”
Jacob looked around, and when he saw that no one was around, he then said with a serious expression, “I’m going to have a good chat with Yolden Hart. Why don’t you come with me?”
Charlie asked in surprise, “What do you want to talk to him about?”
Jacob said, “Isn’t he a gentleman? A gentleman would not seize someone who is loved by and belongs to another man. I want to reason with him and ask him not to pester Matilda anymore. Perhaps he will let go once his conscience condemns him, right? Matilda might come back to me if he lets go!”
Charlie was puzzled. “Dad, there’s nothing wrong with the saying that a gentleman would not seize someone who is loved by and belongs to another man, but strictly speaking, your lover is Mom and not Aunt Matilda! Your theory might still be somewhat useful if he came to confess his love to Mom, but the point is he didn’t do that.”
Jacob said eagerly, “Well... Well, I still have to create some difficulties for him, right? Even if I can’t create practical difficulties for him, I must create some psychological difficulties for him, right?!”
