"Ellinor."
Ellinor was about to get in the car when she heard someone softly calling her name from behind.
She paused, turning around to see Balfour striding towards her.
"Ellinor, can I have a moment of your time? There are some things I'd like to discuss with you," Balfour said gently.
A small frown creased Ellinor's brow. She thought for a moment, then turned to the man standing beside her, "Theo, there's a shop up ahead. Could you grab me a bottle of yogurt? I'm thirsty!"
Couldn't Theo tell that Ellinor was trying to ditch him?
In the past, he would never have allowed her to talk privately with another man, but things were different now. He knew Balfour was Ellinor's biological brother.
They were siblings separated for many years. Since Ellinor was willing to talk to him, he couldn't deny Balfour some respect.
Theo nodded slightly, ruffling Ellinor's hair lightly, "Sure, I'll go get it."
Then he turned and walked slowly towards the shop.
As Theo receded into the distance, Balfour looked at Ellinor, "Let's go to the garden up ahead. The car park's full of exhaust. I wouldn't want you to feel sick."
Ellinor nodded. Since she had agreed to stay and chat, she wouldn't mind walking a bit farther.
They arrived at the hospital garden, where Balfour found a place to sit, taking off his jacket to cushion the stone bench, "Ellinor, sit here."
