Outside the emergency room.
After more than an hour, the door of the emergency room was finally pushed open, and the medical staff pushed the woman who was in a coma out. The head doctor said, "Ms. Mendoza, we can't thank you enough. The patient is out of danger now."
Ellinor nodded, "As long as she's okay."
The little girl, teary-eyed, looked at her mother, "Mommy..."
The nurse bent over to comfort her, "Sweetie, don't cry! Your mom needs to rest. Once she's rested, she'll wake up and talk to you. So, be a good girl and don't disturb her, okay?"
The little girl nodded vigorously, "Okay! I'll be good!"
Ellinor stayed with the little girl, ensuring her mother was safely sent to the ward.
The medical staff informed her that they had contacted the little girl's family. They were on their way and would be there by afternoon.
Knowing that the mother and daughter would have someone to look after them, Ellinor felt relieved. She left the hospital.
Once outside, Ellinor pulled out her phone and dialed Ida. "Ida, book me a flight back."
Ida sounded surprised, "Ellinor, you're leaving today? You're not waiting for me?"
"I can't wait! I can't stay at the hotel anymore, it would blow my cover. Make sure our records are wiped clean!"
"Ellinor, I just talked to the hotel. The masked man in our room has left. All our information was handled virtually. The hotel can't leak anything even if they wanted to."
"Good, book the flight."
"Roger that!"
AAAres had sobered up and left. As long as he was okay.
When would they meet again? Who knew?
