The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2655

"I can't make it today, got a ton of stuff to do at home. Don't even know when I can go to bed. So, no hanging out after school." lamented Valor, her head buried in her workbook. Despite her daily grind, her face bore no trace of complaint.

"Aw, that's such a shame! Last time we were there, the sunset was amazing. I was hoping to catch it again." her friend Aurora sighed.

Valor chuckled, "You've grown up by the beach and have watched countless dawns and dusks, and you still can't get enough?"

Aurora suddenly leaned in close, eyes sparkling with excitement. "Of course not! The ocean is so mysterious; the sunrises and sunsets at sea are unlike anywhere else. If I could, I'd spend my whole life by the shore. Don’t you feel the same? Or have you grown tired of it?"

Valor set down her pen and gazed into the distance. "I want to explore beyond the horizon."

Aurora's brow furrowed with concern. "Are you saying you're leaving me behind? Turning your back on our ocean, our mother?"

To the children raised by its shores, the vast and bountiful sea was like their second mother, nurturing generation after generation.

Valor shook her head and smiled gently, "How could I? I just want to see what's out there, to walk on distant lands. Don't you ever find life in this little fishing village a bit dull?"

"With you by my side, I'm never bored." Aurora declared with conviction.

Ivy took a sharp breath. The brief exchange at the beginning had set the tone for the entire film. How they regarded their hometown had influenced the paths they later chose.
