The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2630

"If I were you, I'd call it quits and turn myself in, confess to the mess I've made!" Balfour said with an indifferent tone, yet his palms were secretly drenched in sweat.

The less he seemed to care, the better his chances of diverting Mara's focus from Ivy. He feared that in a sudden burst of fury, Mara might do something to Ivy.

"Ha! Balfour, oh, Balfour, don't you think it's a little late for that kind of talk? Confession? What good will that do now?"

Balfour frowned and asked her if she ever feared the ghost of Victoria would haunt her in her dreams.

What was there for her to fear? If she had been afraid, she would never have acted! From the moment she slipped an overdose of sleeping pills into Victoria’s Thanksgiving turkey stuffing, there was no going back.

Oh, dear sister, don't blame me. You took so much from me; I merely gave you a taste of your own medicine. As for Balfour, I'll take care of him for you. Rest in peace.

Balfour's face contorted in disgust, "Do you really think people loved your sister just for her looks? You could never achieve the virtues she possessed. You'll never be half the woman she was!"

His words struck like a hammer, shattering Mara's delusions. Mara's voice was laced with sorrow, "Why do you have to be like this? Why?"

Balfour neither understood nor cared to understand Mara’s grief, his only advice was, "Stop this madness. Karma will catch up to you."

"Karma?" Mara sneered, "My karma is falling for you. If it weren't for you, I could've been happy. You've ruined my life, and I won't let you off the hook!"
