Clara's voracious scarfing down of instant noodles came to an abrupt halt. After slurping the last forkful, she pushed the bowl aside and grabbed Ivy by the hair, yanking her closer.

"Ouch!"

Ivy winced as her scalp was pulled taut.

"Think you're all that, huh? What are you worth, anyway? Asking me if I want money or other things. Do you even have two dimes to rub together? What gives you the right to act so high and mighty?"

Clara despised Ivy's haughty attitude, especially now that she had her at her mercy.

Ivy squeezed her eyes shut, involuntary tears streaming down her cheeks from the pain.

"Let me go."

"Hahaha! Beg me, then I might consider it!"

"Please! Clara, just let me go!"

Ivy had no clue when Balfour and his men would discover she'd been kidnapped. She could only play the penitent in front of Clara, hoping to buy them more time.
