The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2401

Mara seemed deaf to Balfour's words, her grip on his hand unyielding.

"Balfour, I know you're mad because I took those photos without your knowledge, and I'm sorry, okay? I didn't mean to. Please don't push me away."

Her words tumbled out in a messy apology, "It's my fault this time, and I won't ever do it again. Can you just not say things in anger? I get you're upset, but don't hurt me with those words. Don't you remember what you promised my sister? Balfour, you can't leave me behind! Without my sister, without my dad, I have nothing, and now are you going to abandon me too?"

Seeing her cry so pitifully, Balfour was at a loss for what to do.

After her sister Victoria passed away, it wasn't long before her father had an accident.

Victoria died for Balfour, and Balfour couldn't bear to neglect her only remaining sister.

Mara initially aimed to garner sympathy from Balfour, but as she wept, her own grief became real.

Why was it that everything she wanted was always taken by others? First, it was her sister, and now Ivy!

Mara brooded viciously, resolving that just as she had replaced her sister back then, she could do the same to Ivy.
