Margot muttered under her breath, a clear undercurrent of anger in her voice.

Ivy understood all too well that Margot's frustration didn't materialize out of thin air.

Actors, after all, were no strangers to the sting of public scrutiny, especially when caught in the throes of a full-blown media backlash.

Ivy let out a weary sigh, "I knew when I decided to pursue acting that not everyone in the world would be a fan. But when you're suddenly facing a tidal wave of malice, it can still knock you off your feet. We're mostly strangers to these people. They only see us on the silver screen. I just don't get where all the hate comes from."

Ivy's question was one that every public figure had pondered at some point.

"I guess they figure since we make a decent paycheck, we should be fair game for their vitriol," Ryan chimed in, his own experience with online attacks being less severe than that of his female co-stars.

The verbal assaults on actresses were particularly vicious and often more personal than those directed at male actors.

Ivy exhaled deeply, knowing full well she couldn't just wave her pay stub at the faceless masses and reveal that she wasn't raking in as much as they imagined.

Seeing Margot so downcast, Ivy offered some words of comfort, "Let it go, girl. We don't need to justify ourselves to them. After all, we've never even met these people. If they think we're rolling in it, then let's just hope one day we actually will be. This injustice is just for tonight. By tomorrow, the tide of public opinion will have turned."

With that, the room felt a touch lighter.
