The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2287

To put it more bluntly, the moment Ivy returned to the cast, everything would be set straight.

After all, their current lifeline was the support from the one and only Balfour behind the scenes.

Margot's jaw dropped after hearing Thalia's breakdown of the situation.

"Are you for real? Ivy's that influential? Then hitching my wagon to her is like hitting the jackpot!"

When she became chums with Ivy, she knew Balfour was in the picture but did not give it much thought. They looked like a match made in Hollywood heaven, after all.

"But why do I feel Ivy isn't the type to ride Balfour's coattails? Remember when we dropped by to see her? The second he heard we wanted to speak with Ivy, he hurried off, leaving us room to chat. I think he really respects her."

Thalia nodded. "Looks like those eyes of yours aren't just for show, huh? I mean, sure, Balfour's a big shot, but that doesn't mean there's anything sleazy between them."

"Please, you made it sound so cloak and dagger. I thought you were hinting that Balfour was keeping Ivy as his sugar baby or something."

Margot was nonchalant, but Thalia tapped her on the head with her fork. "Keep it down, will ya? If Balfour hears this, who knows what he'd do to us! He's sweet on Ivy, but that doesn't necessarily extend to us!"

They were only even on Balfour's radar because of Ivy.

Without her, he would not give them the time of day and probably would not even glance their way twice.

To Balfour, they were about as significant as ants by the roadside.
