The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2242

Thalia stumbled backward with a rueful chuckle, "I was just too naive. Once this movie wraps, I'm gonna do what my mom always said – get my CPA license. No more daydreams about making it big in showbiz."

She was usually so upbeat, a true go-getter. She'd genuinely wanted to be an agent, a talent scout with a Midas touch.

Margot couldn’t fathom what had crushed her spirit to this extent.

Margot grabbed her arm and they shuffled to a secluded corner. Only when they were sure no one was around did they stop.

"Spill it, Thalia," Margot said with a wary edge, "we're alone. What's going on, for real? Did you find out something?"

Thalia shivered, her eyes wide with panic, vehemently shaking her head. "No! What are you on about? I... I haven't found out anything!"

Margot squinted, sensing a crack in the facade. "Then why are you acting like you’ve seen a ghost? You've been so distracted, and we're tight, Thalia. Why can’t you talk to me?"

A bitter smile crept onto Thalia's face. Margot was her only true friend on set. Despite being just a PA while Margot shone as an actress, there was never a hint of hierarchy between them.

She was like the buddy you'd meet in school, always happy to see you and grab your hand- the only person Thalia truly trusted. And that's precisely why she couldn't drag Margot into what she'd discovered; it would be like throwing her to the wolves.

"Of course, I trust you, Margot. I'd tell you anything," Thalia said, her brow furrowed with sincerity. "But we're both new to this game, and it's not as straightforward as we hoped. You get that, right? It's not that I don't want to share – sometimes, not knowing is a blessing."
