Ivy slipped out of the room while Balfour was still out, seizing the moment of his absence.
There was still a mess waiting for her at Ryan’s.
She was filled with regret, but after the chaos that had erupted, and their situation becoming the headline of every tabloid, things were too muddled to explain.
She had to head back home and clear the air with Dean and Alyssa.
Bound by a contract with Balfour, it was her responsibility to keep the elders from worrying over their affairs.
With that in mind and unable to find Ryan, Ivy could only send him an apologetic text.
[I’m really sorry, Ryan. How are you holding up? Are you hurt?]
While rushing home, she asked her assistant from the set to check on Ryan’s condition.
Ryan seemed in good spirits and even sent her a selfie to prove it.
[Don’t worry, it hurt a bit when it happened, but Mr. Howard was holding back.]
Hearing that he wasn’t seriously hurt allowed Ivy to breathe a sigh of relief.
Her apology was nonetheless sincere.
[I'm sorry for dragging you into this mess. I've explained things to him, and he shouldn't be showing up on set anymore. I hope you can forgive his impulsiveness.]
Ryan was surprised Ivy had managed to convince Balfour to stay away from the set.
It seemed she had more sway over Balfour than anyone had anticipated.
