Colton waved his hand dismissively and said to Ryan, "What do you know? I'm right here in front of the monitor, seeing everything clearly, and trust me, now's not the time for our leading lady to shed tears. She's a tough cookie, that one. Didn't even let a single tear fall when he left her out of the blue. She just stood there, all defiant. When the scene of his actual departure comes, that's when she'll let it all out. That's gonna be true to her character."
And with that, Ivy was denied her right to cry on cue. She had no choice but to swallow her tears.
It took three takes to wrap up that scene. When it was finally over, Ryan came over to offer some comfort.
"Hey Ivy, you holding up alright? You seemed a bit off today."
All around them, cameras clicked, capturing their interaction. Ivy knew that Colton was drumming up publicity for the film, shooting some behind-the-scenes footage to generate buzz.
She mustered a weak smile, "I'm fine, really. Sorry you had to go through three takes because of me."
Ryan patted her on the shoulder like a true bro, "Hey, no sweat! You're doing great. We usually don't nail it in one take like you do. If anything, I'm the one who should be embarrassed."
Ivy chuckled, amused by Ryan's exaggerated display.
Unnoticed by Ivy, someone had already posted the footage of the two interacting online.
The video clearly showed Ryan extending a hand to Ivy.
With a faint smile on her face, she seemed to be in good spirits, and it appeared that she and Ryan got along quite well.
Ivy scrolled through the comments on her phone, finding the reactions rather amusing.
"OMG! Even their faces are a match made in heaven!" read one comment, which led the pack in likes.
