The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2167

"Bringing it to the set? Are you hoping I wouldn't notice?" Giselle had a point, and the crew was once again in a bind. Whose side should they take: Ivy's or Giselle's?

The bespectacled woman couldn't afford to cross Giselle after already clashing with Ivy. She clenched her teeth, resolute in her decision not to side with Ivy.

"It's obvious, Giselle's no fool. Why would she keep evidence in her own bag? Some sneaky rat must've played their cards well, slipping the evidence into Giselle's bag while she was being framed. Then, by the time we all discover the clothing, Giselle ends up taking the fall for someone else's dirty work," she rationalized.

Giselle breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that bespectacled woman had crafted a plausible excuse for her.

"Yeah, that's got to be the case," Giselle said as she turned to Balfour, her eyes brimming with sincerity and tears shimmering. "Balfour, you've got to believe me. How could I ever do such a thing? You know me, I'm the type who'd mourn over an ant crushed on the sidewalk. I could never harm anyone."

Balfour looked impassively at the woman before him, spewing lies as if they were gospel. Disgust filled his gaze. He had once considered her a friend and defended her.

When did Giselle become such liar?

With Balfour unmoved, Giselle's tears flowed freely, and she turned her plea towards Ivy.

"Ivy, I've always seen you as a friend. In this cutthroat industry, it's hard to find genuine people. You're new here, and I thought you hadn't been tainted by the business. But now, you're pushing me over the edge! What have I done to deserve this? Just tell me what I've done to offend you, and I'll change. But you can't ruin me like this!"

Giselle's eyes were red and swollen as she stepped forward and grabbed Ivy's hand.
