The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2157

Chapter 2157

Ivy was just about to nod in agreement, mulling over a leisurely stroll through the garden as a distraction, but her phone buzzed with a call from the production team the next moment.

“Hello, is this Ms. Dunhill speaking?”

“I am.”

“Well, regarding the incident at the set yesterday, there’s been some developments. We need you to come down to assist with the investigation.”

Ivy hadn’t expected progress so soon and immediately agreed to go.

After hanging up, Alyssa looked at Ivy with a face full of concern. “Ivy, do you really have to rush off to the set? It might not be the best time to go there now.”

Ivy understood Alyssa’s worries. Having Alyssa’s care was more than enough for her.

She affectionately linked arms with Alyssa and gave a reassuring shake. “Granny, don’t worry! It’s a society governed by law, and the police are on the case. It won’t be easy for them to frame me if that’s what you’re worried about. Besides, they said there was a development – that’s why they called me in. If there wasn’t, I wouldn’t bother going. You and Grandpa should go take your walk in the back garden. I’ll have to pass this time, but I promise I’ll join you tomorrow!”

Seeing Ivy regain some of her spirit, Alyssa felt somewhat relieved.

Alyssa patted Ivy’s hand. “My dear, I hate to see you troubled. Go ahead and tend to your matters. We’ve got plenty of folks at home, so don’t you worry about us.”

Ivy nodded firmly. If things went smoothly, she wouldn’t have to face the loneliness of betrayal at the set again.

The taste of mistrust was truly bitter.

When Ivy arrived at the set in the family car, she noticed that Colton hadn’t shown up yet.

The remaining crew members didn’t interact with her much. Ivy knew that few of them were inclined to believe in her innocence.. So, she decided to stay in the car rather than getting out.

But just as she was about to close the car door, a pair of rough hands stopped her.
