The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 2070

Ivy was at her wit's end. Ever since joining the cast of the show, she had filmed numerous scenes, and each time she thought she'd grasped the essence of her character. But the next script would always prove her wrong.

"The lead... she's a complex character," Ivy mused aloud, not really talking to anyone in particular. "I thought she was just a typical, innocent high school girl. But the scenes we've done tell me she's not. She's internally strong and brimming with imagination and courage. So, I think when she first meets someone from abroad, she shouldn't come off as timid."

Colton, the director, laughed heartily as he watched Ivy passionately dissect her character. "You're spot on, Ivy. But think about it, can't a bubbly, youthful high school girl be a bit shy when she first meets a foreigner? Shyness doesn't necessarily mean cowardice, does it?"

Ivy nodded, a bit dazed. "So, when I play her, I should..."

"Ivy, that's for you to decide with your gut feeling. You're the lead, not me," Colton pointed out.

His words were an epiphany for Ivy. She was the one breathing life into the character, and it was up to her to bring out the charm that the script didn't capture.

Why had she previously thought that the leading character's initial reserve around strangers was fear?

It could be shyness, curiosity, or caution.

Giselle, standing at a distance, watched Ivy and Colton's animated discussion. She could see the admiration and satisfaction in Colton's eyes, as if he had indeed discovered a rare talent. The scene filled her with envy. That role should have been hers!

She should be the one chatting with Colton, not Ivy, who came out of nowhere!

Ivy didn't deserve any of this.
