The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 1795

Bertha shook her head. "I can't just rely on caregivers. Marlinie is my best friend. She’s like family to me. I can't leave her alone here."

Thaddeus huffed in annoyance. "All these years, you've always cared more for Marlinie than for me! If it weren't for her, would you be in danger today?"

Bertha frowned in displeasure. "Here you go again! Neither of us got hurt, and besides, do you think Marlinie did it on purpose?"

"I don't care if she did it on purpose or not; I just don't feel secure when you're with her!"

"That's your problem, not mine. I'm not leaving until Marlinie is discharged!"

After seeing the stubborn look on his wife's face, Thaddeus could only sigh in resignation. "Alright, alright! You stay here with her; I'll have someone keep an eye on you. Whenever I can, I'll come over to keep you both company. Is that okay?"

Once her husband agreed, Bertha softened. "You... you'd better not come! You're always tactless. You never consider Marlinie's feelings."

"I'll keep quiet then. Isn't that enough?"

"Really, there's no need. Focus on your own things. Sophia needs you too."

Thaddeus looked troubled. "Don't remind me! That girl is so stubborn! I told her to let go of Marcus, and we had a huge argument!"

Bertha was stunned. "What? You... you really said that to her?"

Thaddeus nodded. "Bertha, I've taken everything you said to me seriously. I've been spoiling that girl too much over the years! I think Marcus loves his real wife the same way I love you. He'll never be able to develop feelings for another woman, so holding on to him is pointless. Sophia will never obtain real love from him."

Bertha was touched that her husband finally understood. "As long as you understand, we can slowly persuade Sophia."

Upon hearing his wife's soft tone, Thaddeus gazed deeply at her. "Bertha, I've understood everything. Can you forgive me and come home with me?"
