In the attic?!
Tracy instinctively looked up. "You actually brought them into our house?! Aren't you afraid your father will find out?!"
Sheila tugged on her mother's arm, urging her upstairs. "So, we have to deal with those two women and the young girl before dad returns. We need to scare them off so they won't come looking for him again. Hurry, Mom!"
...
Sheila unlocked the attic.
Marlinie, Bertha, and Lea were still inside.
They had been trying to figure out a way to escape. Their pounding on the door and shouting went ignored, until suddenly the door opened.
Sheila led her mother, Tracy, in, folding her arms. She gestured with her chin to the two beautiful women and young girl inside. "Mom, these are the women! I have no idea which one is Dad's old flame."
Tracy eyed the two women in the attic with hostility. She was genuinely threatened by their beauty.
She had always believed herself to be quite well-preserved for her age, but after seeing these two, her self-confidence in her looks instantly crumbled.
She couldn't let Arnold see these two, or she would lose, for sure.
