Belinda gave a slight smirk. She knew that Ellinor would be concerned about Theo's safety, but she couldn't shake off the feeling of disappointment that came from being easily forgotten.
"Stop worrying, you two," Byran crossed his arms and said, "Isn't the wedding just around the corner? Start getting ready! As for Theo, my brother and I got this. We'll make sure he's back safely!"
His good intentions were met with skeptical glances from Chase and Belinda.
Balfour was reliable, but Byran? Not so much. Instead of helping, there's a good chance he'd just mess things up.
Irritated by their obvious disdain, Byran exclaimed, "What's with those looks, huh? Don't believe in my abilities?"
Neither Chase nor Belinda responded, simply turning their heads to look out the window.
Byran was left speechless.
Finally, Balfour, who had been silent all along, asked, "Where are you all headed?"
Chase turned back and politely said, "Mr. Howard, if it's not too much trouble, could you drop us off at the bridal boutique downtown? Thanks."
Belinda remained silent, her cheeks flushed.
"I'm going home," said Ida.
Byran didn't say anything, but clearly intended to accompany Ida, though he didn't dare voice it out loud.
Balfour nodded, signaling the driver to drop them off at their respective destinations.
Since the Blanchet Villa was downtown, the driver first dropped off Chase and Belinda at the bridal boutique.
Next, he dropped off Ida at her apartment building.
After thanking Balfour politely, Ida got out of the car alone. Byran followed in silence.
