The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 1609

Chase narrowed his eyes. "I don't think she's mad at you, but rather at me."

Belinda chose not to push further and followed Chase down the mountain trail.

By the time they got back, it was already close to noon. The bungee jumping spot was miles away from the city, and they made no delays on their return.

Upon entering, they found Ida and Byran at the kitchen, sipping coffee and chit-chatting, with no sign of Ellinor.

Chase, hand in hand with Belinda, asked, "Where's the boss?"

Ida, cradling her coffee mug, jerked her thumb towards the couch.

Glancing over, they saw Ellinor lying on the couch with her eyes closed, seemingly asleep.

"Where on Earth were you two?" Byran teased. "My sister's been waiting for you so long that she fell asleep."

Belinda blushed. "Ah... we… we went to a tourist spot. It was a bit far, which is why we're late."

Ignoring Byran's comment, Chase moved lightly towards Ellinor, picking up a throw from the couch to cover her.

His actions were gentle and respectful, devoid of any inappropriate implications.

Still, Ellinor was stirred awake, opening her eyes sharply.

Facing Ellinor, Chase offered a cautious smile. "Boss, don't catch a cold."

Ellinor rolled her eyes at him, brushed him off, and sat up.

Chase backed off a few steps, standing beside Belinda, ready to face the music.
