Chase quickly nodded in submission. "Okay, no more nonsense from me."
Belinda frowned. "Move to the other side of the table."
Chase obediently agreed. "Alright, I'll behave."
He then stood up and seated himself across the table, looking proper and composed.
However, this arrangement felt even more uncomfortable for Belinda.
Because sitting face-to-face like this made it harder for her to avoid Chase's gaze. It was quite awkward.
"Ahem, what brings you here?" Belinda feigned casualness, trying to divert the conversation.
Chase was all smiles. "I heard you were on a blind date here. I thought I'd come and make sure everything's alright."
Belinda knitted her brows. "Who told you that? Who's got such an annoying, big mouth?"
Though Chase could be a bit of a rascal, he did have some principles. He didn't betray Byran by revealing that he was the source of the information.
"If I want to know about you, I'll find a way."
