Adrian shook his head unhappily, eyeing her with a worried look. “Mommy, are we going to the hospital for a shot now?”

Ellinor paused and then laughed. “No, sweetheart. We're just going to have a chat with a doctor. No shots, I promise. Now, have your breakfast.”

Relieved, Adrian took the sandwich and began nibbling on it listlessly.

Belinda looked troubled. “I'm introducing a friend to you today. Why do you want him to chat with Adrian?”

“Isn't your friend a psychologist? He can help us out with Adrian, right?”

Belinda sighed as she took a bite of her sandwich. “Well, I guess... Fine! We'll all be sitting and chatting anyway.”

Ellinor didn't think much of Belinda's remark. She looked down at her son as her eyes filled with complex emotions.

She remembered seeing her other child, who was identical to Adrian, even down to the way he slept.

She had the urge to snatch her child away, but she didn't want to scare him. Escaping through a window with a child wasn't safe anyway.

That child was the eldest of her triplets. What kind of life had he been living with that man all these years?
