The Kiss that Sparked it All novel Chapter 1500

Seeing Balfour's silence, Marcus squinted, as if he'd pieced together something. "If Miss Ellinor and I weren’t married, then why would I have stolen her child?"

Balfour snapped back to reality, glaring at him darkly. "I'd like to know why you, a scoundrel, would steal a child."

Marcus looked at the somewhat irritable Balfour and calmly asked, "Sir, may I ask your name?"

Balfour responded coldly, "Balfour Howard."

"And your relationship with Miss Ellinor?"

"She's my sister."

Marcus nodded. "I see. Your anger towards me is because you think I've wronged your sister."

Balfour huffed. "Wronged her? The harm you've done to her is far more than any simple word could convey!"

Marcus pondered calmly. "Since I can't remember anything, I can't offer any explanations for your accusations."

The usually polite Balfour couldn't help but grit his teeth. "So, you're telling me that I should just let you go? Let you and Sophia live happily ever after with the child you stole from my sister?"

Marcus replied, "That's not what I mean. In fact, I don't trust Sophia. If I did, I wouldn't have asked you to meet me here while she's out."
