Theo's flight must have touched down by now, right?
Theo had promised to be there with her in the delivery room.
The servants of the Howard estate, hearing the commotion, quickly gathered to lend a hand and promptly relayed the message to Balfour.
Amid the chaos, Ellinor passed out. The last thing she heard was the wailing siren of an ambulance drawing closer.
...
At that exact moment, Balfour had just escorted his younger brother, Byran, out of the school building, having finalized the details of his upcoming semester abroad.
Now, Byran didn't have to return to school. After this period, he'd be flying off to a foreign country.
The two brothers reached their car and Balfour climbed in first.
Byran, standing by the car door, didn't move to get in. His expression was complex as he carefully asked, "Brother, this is likely my last time at this school. I know I've never been fond of studying, but I've grown attached to this campus. After all, I've spent more years here than most since I repeated a few grades. So, I'd like to take a walk around the school and bid my classmates a proper goodbye. Is that okay?"
Balfour squinted at him. "Don't wander off too far, and make sure you come home early."
Byran nodded. "Thanks, bro."
Then Quinton shut the car door and got into the passenger seat.
As the car pulled away from the school, Byran watched it go.
They hadn't driven more than a few hundred yards from the campus when Balfour's phone rang. After seeing that it was a call from the family's landline, he had a feeling it was about Ellinor and quickly picked up.
The housekeeper reported the situation to him, and Balfour's calm face tightened. He hung up and immediately relayed an order. "Turn around! We're going to the city hospital!"
