The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet novel Chapter 1727

Three years ago, Callum was the mastermind behind her mother's untimely death. Yet, he played the role of a good guy, comforting her, being kind to her all this while. Was all this just to make her feel indebted to him, to develop feelings for him? What a terrifying person!

Callum watched Thalassa storm off, seething with anger. He wanted to chase after her, but his feet felt like they were filled with lead. From the look in Thalassa's eyes just moments ago, he knew she had overheard his entire conversation with Susan. She knew everything he had done. Now, she absolutely despised him. All his efforts were in vain.

As Thalassa settled back into the taxi, the conversation between Susan and Callum replayed in her mind, causing a tumult of emotions: anger, sorrow, guilt—all intertwining. Anger at Callum for resorting to such tactics to be with her. Sorrow that her mother was harmed by someone she trusted. Guilt for misunderstanding Lysander, for pushing him away time and again. Thalassa's breathing was erratic, her chest heaving, her fists clenched tight, struggling to contain the pressure building inside her.

The taxi driver noticed her agitated state from the moment she got in the car—her breathing heavy, on the verge of tears yet holding back, angry but not venting.

"Miss, just let it all out," the driver advised. "Keeping it all bottled up can drive a person crazy."

"I'm fine," Thalassa said, fighting back the hot, stinging tears. "I just saw someone's true colors today and realized I've been misunderstanding someone else."
