Tangled Temptations novel Chapter 308

Early in the morning, Eloise woke up. She had the vague feeling of having a dream. In the dream, Harvey regained his memory, he gently said, "Eloise, I'm back."

Eloise sat up. She touched her face. Her cheeks were wet with cold tears.

At the bedroom door, Harvey was standing, holding a tray of breakfast. He looked at her and softly asked, "Why are you crying?"

He walked over and placed the breakfast on the bedside table, checking her forehead, "You're not too hot anymore."

Eloise stared at him. Her nose was slightly red, and she looked a bit pitiful, which made Harvey feel tender towards her. He said in a low voice, "Don't look at me like that. I might not be able to resist."

Eloise's lips trembled, but in the end, she didn't have the courage to ask.

A moment later, she calmed down a bit. "Why are you here?"

Harvey stuffed a pillow behind her and tried to feed her some soup, but Eloise refused, she took the bowl and ate a few bites before realizing she hadn't brushed her teeth. Her expression was somewhat adorable.

Harvey couldn't resist. He pinched her cheek lightly. "Special circumstances, I can be lenient towards you."

Eloise shook her head. "I don't have an appetite."

She still wanted to ask why he was here.

Harvey leaned towards her, his handsome face very close to hers, so close that their breaths intertwined. His dark eyes looked at her, and his tone was strangely tender. "Why did we divorce? You're sick, and you're still bearing it alone."

Eloise tried to move away, but he held her, one hand lightly wrapped around her waist, caressing her slowly, without any lust, just holding onto her.

He was good-looking and tender. To be honest. Eloise couldn't resist, but she was stubborn. "I can have someone else take care of me."

"Gerald? Or that guy Oliver? Eloise, do you feel they are better than me? If they are, why did you reject them?"

Eloise felt a bit suffocated under his hold. The familiar feeling of nausea came back. Harvey noticed her changing face. He loosened his hold, poured her some water, and gave her medicine.

Eloise was sweating profusely. She remembered she had an appointment to see some land today.

Harvey held her down, murmuring, "Rest up first. I'll go on your behalf."

Eloise was stunned.

Just then, there was a knock on the door, it was Gerald's voice.

Harvey looked at Eloise, and Eloise looked at him. After a while, he got up and walked towards the door. Eloise called out to him, "Don't open the door..."

Harvey scoffed, "Am I not supposed to see people?" After saying this, he opened the door.

Outside, indeed, stood Gerald, holding breakfast in his hand. When he locked eyes with Harvey, the atmosphere got a bit tense, but Gerald immediately put on a friendly smile. "Is Ms. Laurent feeling better?"

"She's not feverish anymore, but she's still not in good spirits." Harvey stepped back, allowing Gerald in.

Gerald nodded, placing the breakfast down.

Of course, he saw the other breakfast tray on the bedside table, and his eyes darkened a bit.

From the beginning, he knew he didn't stand a chance, not only because of Eloise's subtle rejection but also because Harvey was the one who discovered him and gave him opportunities. One could say without Harvey, there wouldn't be the Gerald of today. Gerald couldn't bring himself to betray Harvey like that.

Later on, he discussed the land with Harvey. Eloise was lying in bed, half-listening.

Later on, she fell asleep, her last conscious thought was that it seemed like she found the feeling of having someone to rely on again. When she crashed into Joan, she wasn't fearless, but a pair of hands always held her, telling her, "Eloise, don't be scared."

This feeling of security she had felt from the beginning, only Harvey could give her. It made Eloise, want to sink...

Eloise slept for the day in the hotel. When the night fell, the sky lit up with a fiery sunset. The red clouds were quite a sight. She took a shower, feeling much lighter.

The door opened, and Harvey came in with two takeout boxes. Seeing Eloise standing with her back towards him, he asked gently, "Feeling better?"

Eloise turned around to look at him. Ever since he lost his memory, she had been living with him for half a year. She thought she understood him, but now she felt a bit confused. What was Harvey thinking now, was his attentiveness towards her just for the sake of remarrying her?

And... Was last night a dream?

Harvey saw her struggle, so he gave a light smile. "You're the mother of my two children, and I don't have any plans to remarry for now. Is it strange for me to be nice to you?"

Eloise silently walked over to the small dining table and sat down.

She was a bit hungry.

Harvey set the food and watched her eat. He couldn't help but say, "You're so obedient when you're hungry. After you're full, will you ignore me?"

Eloise admired him. Even while eating, he could make it sound so ambiguous.

She glared at him. Harvey just laughed and began discussing his thoughts after seeing the land today. He was naturally insightful, and his words were convincing; even Eloise, who had achieved some success, was amazed by his abilities.

In the end, he said thoughtfully, "But the other party also has some dirty laundry, so I suggest if the land costs more than 400 million, it's not worth it."
