The two of them settled into the backseat, with Mia up front in the passenger seat. As soon as she got comfortable, little Henry launched himself towards her, shouting, "Mommy!"
"It's mom," Mia corrected with a smile.
Henry giggled, "Hehe!"
Mia just shook her head, amused and a bit exasperated.
Andre chuckled too. It was nighttime, and their Rolls-Royce was the only car gliding along the quiet road. As they hit the city limits, the traffic started to thicken.
Knowing Jamie's address, Mia suggested they drop him off first, aware that she'd feel uneasy once Denny wasn't around.
After seeing Jamie off, they made their way to the university to drop Denny.
As they approached the familiar grounds of Havenbrook University, Henry pointed excitedly at the main gate, his memory sharp as ever, "Mommy photo!"
Mia looked at the flowerbed by the entrance and ruffled her son's hair, "That's right, sweetie. Mommy took her graduation photo here. You've got quite the memory, Henry."
They say persistence pays off, and even the biggest foodies can slim down over time.
When Cooper teased his sister about her weight, Andre wasn't having it. He was the only one, aside from their son, who truly understood how hard Mia had been working lately.
Realizing a bit late how dedicated Mia had been, Cooper draped an arm over her shoulders, teasing from his taller vantage, "Sis, you gotta be careful. If you get too skinny, you won’t be able to hold your ground against your defendants."
Mia rolled her eyes, waving her hand at him, "Cooper, seriously? You think I spend my days brawling with defendants? Besides, I haven't even passed the bar yet."
After Mia gave him a playful slap, Cooper managed to say something genuine, "You'll pass for sure. You're my sister, after all."
Then he added with a grin, "With our parents’ genes producing a genius like me, even if you’re the 'lesser model,' your IQ's gotta be at least 200."
