Mia finally grinned and tiptoed, puckering up for a kiss. Just as little Henry was about to sneak a smooch from his mom, his dad's big hand swooped in, gently covering his face and blocking his adorable attempt.
Andre leaned in and planted a soft kiss on his wife's rosy lips. With a gentle tone, he said, "Be good, and go have some dinner."
Giggling, Mia carried Henry off to the dining room.
Once Mia was gone, Andre had a moment of realization: Wait a minute, something's off. He was supposed to be upset today, to give his little wife a scare about how serious things were. Yet, somehow, she always managed to steer him off course.
For Andre, dealing with the Dark Web was a breeze compared to handling Mia, who effortlessly melted his resolve.
Soon enough, Mia's voice echoed from the dining room, "Honey, get over here, Henry's stealing my croissant!"
"Mia, don't let him have it. He already had one this morning; another will mess with his tummy." Andre couldn't resist jumping in whenever Mia called.
Later, with Henry whisked away by his dad, he sat watching his mom eat, his formula suddenly less enticing.
"Where's dad?" Mia asked.
Andre replied, "Oh, he's off showing off to Seth."
Mia chuckled, "What a cute old man."
That morning, Andre had some business to handle, so Mia made a quick decision to take their son out.
As they headed out, Andre gave instructions to the staff, "Keep an eye on my wife, make sure she doesn't get into any scuffles."
"Will do."
Not long after Mia left, a familiar face showed up at the hotel. "Andre, it's Patrick."
