How peculiar it all seemed.
After checking the surveillance, Henry, with everyone watching, climbed up onto the TV stand. With his chubby little hands, he managed to turn on the TV. Then, sprawled out on the coffee table, he grabbed the remote and started pressing buttons, just like he'd seen the adults do. Eventually, he pressed too hard and broke it. With that, he scampered off to find something else to play with.
And so, the mystery of the Cedillo family was solved.
Andre and Mia exchanged guilty glances at the little bundle of mischief in Mia's arms. The main culprit, Henry, flashed his parents a big, proud smile, as if to say, “Look how clever I am!”
Molly eyed her sleepy son, “You should take a page out of your brother’s book. Don’t just sleep all the time. How about you stir up some trouble for your dad and me? Other kids are all over the place, full of energy, and here my little dragon is always in hibernation.” Molly leaned over the stroller, cradling her face in her hands, utterly baffled.
Officer Chad, coming home and washing his hands, immediately went to scoop up his son. When talking about his son, Officer Chad couldn’t help but boast, “My boy’s gonna be an angel.”
Henry had disappeared again, and for a moment, Andre couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy for his sister’s son.
Kids who behave really do make life easier for their parents, something Andre knew all too well, given he had a son who was always up to something, “Henry, Henry, get out here.”
Henry didn’t show up, and Chad watched Andre search the whole house for his son. Meanwhile, his own child was still in his arms, peacefully sleeping—talk about easy.
Finally, Mia stepped outside, holding a spoon and bowl, and called out, “Sweetie, it's time to eat. There's some yummy meat in the bowl.”
Within a minute, Henry came running from behind the steps, happily raising his little arms for his mom to hold him, “Mommy!”
Mia handed the bowl and spoon to her husband, grabbed her son under his arms, and hoisted him up, “Back inside for a bath, young man!”
Only then did Henry notice the empty bowl in his dad’s hands… Ah, tricked by mom again!
Molly admired her sister, “Mia, you’re amazing. You always know how to handle Henry.” Then, Molly turned her gaze to her sleepy son, “Wayne, why don’t you let your mom show off her smarts for once?”
