Tears were streaming down Sabrina's cheeks as her expression slowly became stern. With the sky-blue dress she wore and the crystal shoes on her feet, she looked like a fairy that was out of this world. She swallowed before explaining with a hoarse voice," Back when Aunt Grace only had a month left to live, there was a family gathering here at the old Ford residence for you to select a woman of high status as your wife from the invited guests. Aunt Grace had wanted desperately to attend the party and see the old residence with her own eyes. It had been her biggest dream to move into the old Ford residence, even for just a day. She once said that she could die happy if only the Ford Family acknowledged her as one of them to the public. Aunt Grace knew that she was bound to her sick bed and would not be able to attend the gathering, so she begged me to take a few pictures of the old Ford residence to show her. But I had forgotten to bring the camera with me that day. I never got to fulfill her request, and that became Aunt Grace's biggest regret until the day she died. I felt so horrible and so guilty about it. I owe her so much, more than I've ever owed anyone else in my life."
Sabrina paused to glance at Sebastian with a bitter smile and continued, "Do you know why I insisted on not taking the money you promised me on the contract we signed? I knew that was a lot of money, but I decided not to take it mainly because I have
failed the one thing Aunt Grace asked of me. I've failed her, so I can't accept the money."
Sebastian held her hand in his palm and squeezed tightly. He did not say or ask anything, but he knew what she was about to say and decided to support her i n silence.
"Aunt Grace was the person who had been kindest to me in my whole life. She was family, and also my mother. She hadn't been able to fulfill her dream when she was alive. Is it wrong for me to give her something that was already mine after her death? I just wanted to keep the Ford Family heirloom closer t o her, so what? All of you gang up on me, and there isn't a doubt in my mind what would happen to me if I insisted on keeping this a secret. Now that I did, pray tell, will those priceless bracelets be safe next to Aunt Grace's ashes from this day onward? Will they??" Her lips curled into a sneer in contempt.
Everyone in the hall was stunned speechless, as they all knew that it would have been safe to keep those valuable items with the urn if no one knew about it. But now that the news got out, those treasures would b e gone in a matter of seconds.
"If-" Sabrina stopped and took in a deep breath before proceeding, "if the old Master Shaw could allow Kingston to head towards the graveyard now, he can retrieve those treasures and I'll return them all to you."
