With black and red smudges all over her face, Selene forced a smile and looked up at Sebastian. "Do...do tell, fl
"When I accompanied my wife Sabrina to pick out her gown, we were unaware that you had made a reservation on this simplistic style dress from Sloane a s well. Sloane has a policy against disclosing any personal information of their clients, but my wife had her eyes on this dress, so we told the staff we would like to take the simplistic style dress in exchange with the diamond embroidered one she originally had, as a sort of compensation directly from the Director of Ford group Sebastian Ford."
Selene's eyes widened.
Sebastian turned around to look at the shop assistant who delivered the heels and asked, "Isn't that exactly what I said four days ago?"
"Yes, Mr. Ford," the shop assistant replied deferentially, "that was what we told Ms. Selene Lynn here as well, we are not entirely sure how she managed to interpret that the dress was specifically picked out for her by you. Ms. Lynn, surely our surveillance cameras at the shop would capture what we had told you about the dress you are wearing when you came in for fitting. It should not be difficult to retrieve the footage and prove that."
Selene squeezed her eyes closed before running her bloody hand over her face to wipe the tears. She was a t a loss for words. The staff had explained in detail back at the shop, but she simply wasn't paying attention. All she heard was bits and pieces of certain keywords that mentioned "Sebastian Ford", "the dress had already been paid for", "compensation" and such, which were sufficient for Selene to fantasize. It was what she wished to believe so she had somehow interpreted it in a way where it was Sebastian who had ordered this exquisite, one-of-a-kind dress specifically for her. She even managed to convince herself that Sebastian did so to introduce her to his relatives and that everything was falling into place.
"Master Sebastian, may I take my leave now?" The shop assistant asked gingerly.
Sebastian nodded. "Yes."
After the shop assistant left, he turned to scan the crowd, expressionless and composed. "Getting married was supposed to be a private affair, I can announce my marriage to the world but I also reserve the right to not tell anyone. Unfortunately, some of you seem to see that as a chance to pick on and abuse my wife. You people must think that I've gone soft, haven't you?"
