The difference in power in their relationship was simply far too big for her to ever escape him. He could care for her, teach her how to drive, get a marriage certificate with her or even take her back to the old Ford residence to announce his claim over her, but when it came back to choosing between his best friend and her, Sabrina knew she was disposable.
She remained silent even after they arrived home and left Aino to spend time with Sebastian after dinner, as they always did. She took her phone and went back to the bedroom, before opening the private group chat among parents of the kindergarten Aino went to and started checking all the messages. She didn't have the time to check and now that she had, she noticed that there were people in the group that questioned her worthiness of being added into the chat room. When she had failed to reply, the few mothers that were more active than others began gossiping and said something along the lines of "Aino's mother just keeps quiet whenever there is a discussion that involves money". One even went as far as saying, "Mrs. Scott, if you have some sort of difficulties, why don't you quit this group and let someone else take your place?"
A few days ago, Susan's mother had mentioned to Sabrina once that there had been discussions about chasing out families that were not financially stable but were simply pretending to be high-middle class
from the kindergarten. In order to officially enforce their plan, the parents had decided to organize a party in a five-star hotel. Sabrina had not been to that hotel before, but she overheard a few of the mothers bragging that one single bottle of wine could cost up t o two hundred thousand, all the tableware were crafted with pure silver and that a slice of cake cost over ten thousand in that hotel that was decorated phenomenally. There had been heated discussion surrounding this topic for the past few days but Sabrina had never participated.
In the end, there was a proposition that everyone was t o contribute fifty thousand dollars. The twelve of them would raise a total fund of six-hundred thousand dollars to organize the party. The other mothers had already submitted their share and Sabrina was the only one who had failed to respond, which was why Mia Cohen's mother confronted Sabrina in front of the kindergarten when she went to pick Aino up.
