"A mother who was yet to be forty died with resentment! James Dunn! You're a man who has committed so much sin, yet you're telling me that you're sincere to me?"
James was unable to say anything at all. He looked dispirited as if he was about to die. "You may not know this but I really have fallen for you. I had really never fallen for any of the women that I have scammed. However, I have really given my love to you! I had truly thought about living my life with you. It's just that being in this line of work, I don't have a choice. I have already been working together with my gang for so many years. We are one entity. We can't be divided. However, I truly have given you my love! I send you flowers every day! I made breakfast for you and I helped you repair your electrical appliances at home. I went to watch you dance and play the piano every day. I truly have fallen for you!"
James actually had a catch in his throat when he said that. His eyes were feared up and his expression was incomparably aggrieved. He let out a long sigh. "If I hadn’t fallen for you, the method we used to abduct you may be a hundred times more vulgar! You may have already been shared by a few men a long time ago! They never would have let you go! It’s because I have blocked all of these for you! I was afraid that you’ll get hurt!"
"You feel very wronged, don't you?" Gloria asked, smiling.
"Of course!" James said very loudly.
"James Dunn, the idea you first had was to be very vicious and merciless to me. You intended to take my money, violate me with so many of your accomplices, and you wanted to let me die a miserable death!
However, you had a change of mind halfway through. You sympathized with me, so the method you used to lie, rob, and harm me became much gentler. You wanted me to be grateful to you because of this. Am I right?"
"I..." James said.
