"Aunt Jane, not only did Uncle Alex hand over all the financial power to you, but he even gave you a bodyguard now. I suspect that he did not get you a bodyguard to protect you, it was actually to keep an eye on you so that you can't be snatched away by other men. Look at you now. You're getting prettier and prettier," Ruth immediately said with relief.
Ruth always had no filter. It was only in the face of people whom she feared that her inferiority and helplessness would show. Ruth was not afraid of her Aunt Jane anymore, so she was able to speak whatever came to her mind.
Jane glared at Ruth with annoyance. "You naughty girl! You can only be so spirited and shrewish in front of a few people like us who are so close to you! If it was someone you're unfamiliar with, you'd instantly become a coward!"
"Hahaha. Aunt Jane...who is your bodyguard then?" Ruth replied.
Jane turned her head around and glanced at that woman who was moving things out of the car and called out, "Isadora?"
At the other end, Isadora happened to be taking down the large luggage from the trunk. She pulled the luggage over and gently called out, "Jane."
Jane smiled. "Isadora, let me introduce someone to you. This is Alex's nephew's fiancee, Ruth Mann. We just call her Ruth."
Isadora looked at Ruth with a faint smile. "Nice to meet you, Miss Mann."
Isadora was very polite and she was a little reserved. Ruth was also able to tell that Isadora's self-esteem was a little low. Ruth immediately felt as if she had found a kindred spirit and had a sense of familiar friendliness on Isadora. "So, you're Isadora?"
