Later on, he heard that he could make a lot of money working in the South, so Noah considered going to the metropolitan city of South City to work.
But what about his mother? Later, Noah devised a plan. An honest neighbor of his would take care of his mother. Once he found a job, he would send money home, paying a portion of it to his neighbor as their fees for taking care of his mother.
Noah was a hard-working, steady, and intelligent man. Not long after he arrived in the big city in South City, he successfully landed himself a job. However, it was a job in a clothing factory. And it was a position a s a seamstress. Not many men held this position, it was mainly a woman's job, men found it embarrassing. But Noah did not have time to think about all this, he wanted to earn money in the shortest time possible, so he could send money home to support his mother.
Within a year, Noah had earned more than ten thousand dollars from his job in the clothing factory. H e only saved two thousand dollars as living expenses for himself, sending all of the remaining money to his mother.
That year, Noah did not go home to celebrate New Year's Day. He wanted to stay here a little longer, and after earning a little more money, he would go home
and never leave again. Then, he hoped to get a wife in his hometown, to start a family, and take care of his mother.
Another year passed, Noah had earned more than twenty thousand dollars. Carrying the money, Noah decided to return home. Twenty years ago, twenty thousand dollars was considered a fairly large sum of money. At least when he got married it would be a respectable amount to send to the bride's family as a wedding gift. However, when he returned home, Noah never expected to find his mother in such a condition. She was as thin as a stick, laying on the bed and hardly moving.
Only after he asked his mother did he find out that his neighbors only fed her one meal a day, and it was all leftovers at that. When they were busy, they even sent her some food once every two or three days.
