Cassius and a few other men surrounded Nathan. It was clear that they did not harbor good intentions.
Cassius narrowed his eyes and placed a hand on the hilt of his sword, feigning concern as he said, “Mr. Cross, are you alright? Let me assist you.”
After saying that, he seized the moment when Nathan was distracted and swiftly drew the sword from its scabbard.
Cassius then thrust it fiercely toward Nathan's abdomen.
The forest was shrouded in darkness, so visibility was extremely low.
Given that Nathan was already seriously injured, Cassius assumed this strike was going to be successful.
Much to his surprise, as his sword was about to pierce Nathan's lower abdomen, Nathan made an unexpected counterattack in the heat of the moment.
Without warning, Nathan caught the blade with his bare hands.
The blade sliced through Nathan's palm, and blood poured out profusely.
Yet, it also caused the sword to halt, unable to advance even an inch further.
Cassius was taken aback. He stared at Nathan in disbelief as his voice trembled slightly. “Mr. Cross, you—”
Nathan said coldly, “Thanks for that!”
After saying that, he lifted his hand and landed a punch right on Cassius's face.
Thwack!
A single punch shattered Cassius' facial bones.
Before Cassius even had the chance to scream, he had already fallen backward, dying on the spot.
Upon realizing that Nathan had seen through their plot and killed Cassius, the remaining Holy Knights were shocked and furious. One of them roared angrily, “Attack together and destroy him!”
In an instant, the four of them, like four vicious wolves, pounced on Nathan all at once.
With a cold huff, Nathan forcefully bent the claymore he had snatched from Cassius's hands.
Bang!
The claymore could not withstand the force of Nathan's hands and snapped, shattering into countless fragments that flew toward the incoming Holy Knights.
In an instant, the Holy Knights were hit by the flying shards in rapid succession. Blood splattered everywhere as they fell to the ground, screaming in agony until their last breaths.
Nathan forcefully killed several Holy Knights, but his strength gave out. With a thud, he, too, collapsed to the ground, falling next to several bodies.
The fresh blood from the corpses slowly trickled onto the ground, gradually pooling together. By chance, it flowed toward the unconscious Nathan.
