Perfect Husband, The Destined One novel Chapter 5930

Avalon's face turned scarlet at the crowd's jeers.

Darryl saw this, and smiled gently. "Don't you stoop to their level. You won't be able to get anywhere using logic with these guys."

Avalon grunted in response, holding back her anger and not saying anything.

Just then, Calvin stepped forward and looked at Darryl. "This little girl broke our vase?"

"Yes," Darryl nodded.

Calvin smirked at the admission. "Alright. How do you think we should take care of this?"

Darryl smiled lightly. "You can let me make a phone call. I'll be sure to return with a satisfying answer within the next half hour."

Things would be much easier once he got into contact with Felix.

What?

Just then, everyone else stopped short before bursting out into laughter.

"This fellow's interesting, isn't he? Asking to make a phone call at a time like this!"

"I reckon he's trying to buy time to escape."

"Yeah, I think so too…"

The voices sounded over, all of them mocking Darryl.

Calvin could not help but laugh as well. He stared Darryl down, saying the words coldly. "Don't be funny with me. Are you thick in the head, thinking I'd let you make a phone call after breaking my vase?"

Darryl did not react much to the humiliation. Instead he took a deep breath, looking at Calvin. "It's fine if you don't want to let me do that. You can call Felix Blakely then, and tell him an old friend wants to see him."

Calvin's expression froze at the words, stopping short as he stared at Darryl in disbelief.

He knew Mister Felix?

It was important to note that Felix was the head of Blakely Industries, and they had branches all over the Nine Continents. Calvin was one of the more favored people in the grand scheme of things, but could barely even be considered to be one of Felix's personal favorites.

And this poor, destitute looking guy was here, calling Felix by his first name and claiming they were friends?

When would Mister Felix ever befriend lowly peasants like this?

"Ha!"
