At dawn, I appeared at the address Damon had given me. I was standing in front of a little cabin, deep in the woods, surrounded by tall forest trees. There were no houses, nor signs of human lives. It was perfect for me.

With the key he had given to me, I opened the wooden door and stepped into it. The lights were off but I turned them on, eyes roaming the living room. It was not precisely big but It was okay. It had a two-seater sofa and three couches with a fireplace. It also had a television compartment. 

Grabbing my suitcase, I walked past the living room, dragging it behind me to see a door leading to the kitchen. It was a modern kitchen with a pristine surface. How it was neat when it looked like it hadn't been visited for years surprised me. I concluded that he might have hired someone to get it cleaned for me.

Leaving the kitchen, I saw a hallway with three doors in it. The first which I opened was the bathroom, the second was the restroom and the last which was down the hallway was the bedroom. It contained a king-sized bed, a walk-in closet, and also a tv compartment.

I opened the two windows overlooking the forest. Everywhere was eerily quiet, except for the chirping sounds of birds as it was morning. It was the true definition of peace in its purest form. For the first time since I escaped from the cell, I was at peace with myself. The confidence that I wouldn't be found here was gratifying.
